LWS Prototype power pack life-cycle tests have been performed using the «Grasshopper» test stand

Our team have recently finalized a set of experimental works using a 2-meter high laboratory stand to imitate LWS Prototype's power–pack loads. The main goal of the tests was to check the operational capability of power-pack design.

The experiment included lifting and lowering of half a ton weight, which made it possible for us to test the motor's starting capacity, to improve its control system, and to test the effectiveness of the counter-slip mechanism we had developed. The experiment has brought us to a decision to rid of the trolley's hydraulic damper, so the weights are decelerated by the motor's control unit. This solution will reduce the costs of LWS.
